FLV Metadata Viewer Beta

We have just released beta of FLVMDV: Free, Windows XP property sheet extension that displays FLV info (like dimensions, codecs, duration) and also the contents of the embedded onMetaData event for FLV (Flash video) files.

Flvmdv

We also released FLVMDI 2.9 two days ago, which can now extract onMetaData event data as an XML file, but having the info in file properties dialog is sometimes more convenient.

Please let us know of any issues, suggestions.

Great tool, any chance for a OSX version? :)
Does it also show if there is a NetStream.Play.Stop present in the FLV? Sometimes our FLVs don’t have this event, screwing up the playback. Being able to have a confirmation from your tool that the FLV is incorrect would be useful..

  2. Hi,
    Thanks.
Unfortunately we can only program for Windows, so we won’t have an OS X version.
FLVMDV pro version (free for our customers on request) shows all the data in a FLV.
    Best regards,

This is a great tool !
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to open up flv files with Martin Devisser’s stand alone FLV player just to 1) see if the file has ANY metadata and 2) get it’s framerate / dimaensions etc.

  4. We have now released v1.0.
    Best regards,
    Burak
