Being a Windows only guy so far, I’m no Mac fan. I only heard of Jef Raskin recently because of a post by Eric Dolecki (he’s a huge Mac fan BTW) about Burrell Smith, which led me to folklore.org where I read a lot about original Macintosh history – and also visited Jef Raskin’s site…
I was impressed by his articles, especially the one about why wings work, oddly, because I thought it was Bernoulli effect and never questioned it before… He was the guy that brought the one button mouse and admitted it was a mistake later, also he was the one coined the name Macintosh, which started as the project name and sticked though people wanted to change it after Raskin left Apple….
He died at age 61 (11 days to his 62nd birthday), but I had only heard of him for a few days. Feels like I had lost someone I just met…
What a bad news! I was lucky enough to exchange few emails with him.
The world lost a great men.
