FLV MetaData Injector – Public Beta

A free win32 console application by Manitu Group, that is us, to add MetaData to FLV files.

I’ll post more info later, for now here are some notes:
- Adds MetaData to FLV files
- No batch support yet, works on single files
- Computes length in seconds, width and height – but not audio, video and frame rates.
- Deletes exisiting MetaData, but uses the rates and creation time there if found.

It will be a free tool. Whats the catch? You cannot distribute it or link to the download. You can only link to the product page and download from there. And we will have ads for our tools at that page. (This will go into the license agreement).

We have no page for it as of yet, but the URL is http://www.buraks.com/flvmdi where you can download the public beta.

Let us know if it works or not, you ideas etc. Thanks!

For meta data that consists of data stored via NetStream.send commands; can I add and edit that, too?

  2. This app only adds an AMF data tag with ‘onMetaData’…
I’ll contact you off-blog about this.

I’m looking for the similar tool for extracting metadata from FLV files. I’m sure you know the way to do it, can you make such a tool? Or at least give me some advise on how this can be done… Thanks,
    Alex.

  6. Hi Alex,
We will be adding this functionality to FLVMDI as soon as we find some free time.

  7. Hi Alex,
We have just released FLVMDI 2.8 Beta, which adds the /v switch, which extracts the metadata as an XML file.
